Maintaining your Chevrolet vehicle ensures its longevity, performance, and safety. This requires you to stay up-to-date on regular service tasks. This Chevy service checklist can help keep you keep track of these tasks based on your mileage. If you're due for any of these tasks, visit Shea Chevrolet today.
3,000 to 5,000 Miles
When you've driven 3,000 to 5,000 miles or every three to six months (whichever comes first), it's time to top off all fluids as needed. These include:
- Coolant
- Brake fluid
- Transmission fluid
- Windshield washer fluid
You should also check battery terminals and connections for corrosion and ensure the battery functions properly, and inspect your tires for wear and rotate them as necessary. You'll also want to schedule a Chevy oil change during this interval - when you come in for an oil change, we'll be sure to cover all of the above for you and inform you of any issues.
10,000 to 15,000 Miles
Between 10,000 and 15,000 miles (or after a year), it's time to inspect the engine air filter and cabin air filters. Additionally, schedule an inspection of the brake, steering, and exhaust systems and check belts and hoses for wear and tear. These are all crucial Chevy parts, so be sure to replace them if you notice any issues or damage.
Every 30,000 Miles
At 30,000 miles, you should inspect the following parts to ensure they're working properly, and replace them as necessary:
- Fuel lines and connections
- Fuel filter
- Spark Plugs
- Ignition system components
- PCV valve
Every 60,000 Miles
After you've put some serious miles on your Chevy SUV, sedan, or truck, it's time to look at and possibly replace more intricate components such as the timing belt/chain and the drive belt.
Every 100,000 Miles
Once you've hit this milestone, it's time for a thorough transmission service from Shea Chevrolet, including a complete fluid change and inspection. Replace coolant and heater hoses as well as power steering fluid.
Seasonal Checks
As the seasons change from hot to cold in late fall and then back again in the spring, there are a few Chevy service tasks to note. The start of winter is a good time to inspect the battery, tires, antifreeze levels, wiper blades, and heating system. As summer approaches, check the air conditioning system, coolant levels, and tire condition.
